These coats require careful scissoring, detangling, and styling to keep them looking their best while preventing painful matting. Absolutely! At Lulu’s Pet Spa, our team is expertly trained in de-shedding and styling luxurious double coats. Golden Retrievers, in particular, require specialized grooming skills, including precise trimming of feathering on the legs, tail, and ears, as well as body styling that preserves their natural wavy coat while carefully managing flyaways.

Our groomers are trained to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments and our grooming equipment is suited for extra small to ginormous breeds. For the safety of our staff as well as our spa clients, we do NOT accept aggressive dogs, regardless of size or breed.

Our process is different from traditional groomers in various ways. We’re appointment-only, so you’re not delayed by walk-ins and our reception area stays calm and uncrowded. We also give pets time to settle into the spa — saying hello, sniffing around, and maybe enjoying a yummy treat before grooming begins. Throughout the session, our team offers plenty of reassurance and affection so your pet feels relaxed and safe. This thoughtful, unhurried approach may take a bit longer than factory-style salons, but it’s worth it — and your pet agrees!
Grooming times at Lulu’s Pet Spa vary based on your pet’s size, coat condition, temperament, and the specific services being performed. Because we focus on individualized, one-on-one care, our sessions may take longer than a typical “in-and-out” grooming salon — and that’s intentional.
We never rush (even at end of the day), rotate pets assembly-line style, or cut corners. Every extra minute is spent ensuring your pet is comfortable, safe, and beautifully groomed. The result? A calmer experience, better finish, and a pet that feels just as good as they look — which we think is well worth the time. We’ll notify you about 30 minutes before pickup.
Pricing at Lulu’s Pet Spa is truly individualized based on your pet’s size, coat type, condition, and styling needs. The starting prices shown on our website apply to short-haired single coats.
In general, longer coats add cost, double coats a bit more, and curly and doodle coats add the most. as the final price depends on time and care required. We’re always happy to provide a personalized quote over the phone or in the spa before we get started.

We understand that each coat type requires unique techniques — from careful de-shedding to precise scissoring and gentle detangling. Our groomers are trained to style pets with expert precision, comfort, and breed-appropriate care so every dog leaves looking and feeling their best.
We only use top of the line salon grade shampoos and conditioners as well as our own proprietary blend of organic ingredients used for our highly praised hydration treatments. Hypoallergenic and safe degreasing products are also available.
Most dogs benefit from grooming every 4–6 weeks, depending on breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Long-haired or curly-coated breeds (like Poodles, Doodles, Golden Retrievers or Shih Tzus) may need grooming more often to avoid knots and tangles. Short-haired dogs also benefit from regular baths, nail care, and ear cleaning.
